Fall Prevention
Falls are the leading cause of injury for seniors. One in three over the age of 65 will fall once every year, and are the main reason why older adults lose their independence. Many falls can be prevented, and there are many resources available to help to keep seniors injury-free. In addition to providing information resources, we support the prevention of falls by working with other health care professionals and the family. In addition, our Physiotherapists play an important role in the fall prevention team. We have developed a mobility index to identify the resident's risk of fall. Moreover we have developed an exercise regimen to improve the dynamic balance of the residents.
